What the result means
The calculator compares entry price, exit price, quantity, and fees to estimate profit or loss. It is useful for checking a trade plan before placing an order or reviewing a completed trade.
Fees and slippage
Exchange fees, spread, network fees, and slippage can turn a small expected gain into a loss. Include realistic costs whenever possible.
Risk note
Crypto prices are volatile and this tool does not predict future prices. It is a math helper, not financial advice or a recommendation to buy or sell.
Recordkeeping
Keep your exchange records for tax reporting. A quick profit estimate does not replace official transaction history or tax guidance.
How to use it
- Enter buy price, sell price, quantity, and any fees.
- Review profit or loss and return percentage.
- Compare scenarios and make decisions using your own risk rules.
How the calculation works
Cost basis equals buy price × quantity plus entered fees. Proceeds equal sell price × quantity. Profit is proceeds minus cost basis. This simplified estimate does not model separate buy/sell fee rates, spread, slippage, network costs, taxes, or multiple purchase lots.
Worked example
Buying 0.1 units at $40,000 and selling at $45,000 creates $500 before costs. Entering $25 in total fees reduces the displayed estimate to $475.
